Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes what you may and may not do when using Arehté. It is incorporated into our Terms of Service. Violating this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.
2. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to use Arehté for any of the following:
- Fraud: Any fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading activity.
- Illegal activity: Any activity that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law.
- Harassment and abuse: Harassing, abusing, threatening, or intimidating any person.
- Spam: Sending unsolicited communications, mass messaging without consent, or any activity that violates anti-spam laws (CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, or similar).
- Phishing: Attempting to obtain sensitive information through deceptive means.
- Impersonation: Impersonating another person or business, or misrepresenting your affiliation.
- Unauthorized access: Attempting to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to access.
- Copyright infringement: Uploading or publishing content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others.
- Privacy violations: Collecting, storing, or sharing personal information about third parties without proper authorization or legal basis.
- Malicious automation: Using automation to harm, overload, or disrupt Arehté or third-party platforms.
- Circumvention of third-party restrictions: Bypassing platform restrictions, rate limits, or access controls on third-party services.
- Abuse of APIs: Using third-party APIs in ways that violate their terms, rate limits, or acceptable use policies.
- Activities intended to harm third-party platforms: Any activity designed to damage, overload, or disrupt third-party services.
- Malware: Distributing or facilitating the distribution of malware, viruses, or harmful code.
- Other prohibited uses: Any other unlawful, harmful, or prohibited use.
3. Outreach and Communications
When using Arehté's outreach features, you are responsible for:
- Ensuring you have a legal basis to contact the recipients you import or target.
- Complying with anti-spam laws, including providing identification and opt-out mechanisms where required.
- Not sending unsolicited mass communications without proper consent.
- Respecting opt-out requests promptly.
- Not using Arehté to send deceptive, misleading, or fraudulent communications.
Arehté provides outreach tools to assist with authorized business communications. Arehté does not send outreach automatically - you review and authorize each send. Misuse of outreach tools for spam is a violation of this policy.
4. Content Responsibility
You are responsible for all content you publish or send through Arehté. This includes ensuring your content:
- Does not violate any law or third-party right.
- Does not infringe intellectual property rights.
- Does not contain defamatory, harmful, or misleading material.
- Complies with the policies of any third-party platform where it is published.
- Does not make false or unsubstantiated claims.
5. Third-Party Platform Rules
When you connect and use third-party platforms through Arehté, you must comply with those platforms' own terms of service, developer policies, and community guidelines. Arehté is not responsible for actions taken by third-party platforms against your account for policy violations.
6. Security
You agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Arehté's systems or data.
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service.
- Use the Service to attack, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system.
- Share your account credentials or allow unauthorized access.
7. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and take action, including:
- Removing or disabling access to violating content.
- Issuing warnings.
- Suspending or terminating accounts.
- Reporting violations to law enforcement where appropriate.
We reserve the right to take immediate action without prior notice where we believe a violation poses a risk to the Service, other users, or third parties.
8. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of a violation of this policy, please report it through the in-app support assistant. We investigate all reports and take appropriate action.
This policy is an initial legal/compliance framework and should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before production launch.
